AFTERCARE

NAILS

- avoid intense heat for 24 hours. It may cause heat spike or lifting.
- use cuticle oil daily. Daily use of cuticle oil strengthens the nail and helps prevent brittle or peeling nails, meaning products last longer.
- apply hand cream daily. It helps to improve skin condition and delays aging.
- over exposure to water (frequent swimming, hands in water for prolonged periods etc) can cause product breakdown due to the extra moisture absorbed. (This can also happen if you bite at nails or skin frequently).
- wear rubber gloves when washing up, cleaning or using chemicals or products such as hair dye. Chemicals break the product down and dyes cause staining.
- wear gloves when doing hands on tasks such as gardening. This protects your nails from unnecessary knocks.
- wash your hands after applying lotions, fake tan and suncream to avoid staining.
- overuse of hand sanitiser can cause lifting. Wash hands with soap and water when you can.
- don't use your nails as tools
- if you file natural nails, only file in one direction. Filing back and forth can cause nails to split.
- do not pick gel or enhancements off. It will weaken your nails as it pulls a layer of nail off.
- do not pick or bite at skin- it can cause nasty infections.
